Naval Support Activity Bethesda is home to the US’s largest facility for care and rehabilitation of wounded warriors: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.  In direct support to the healing process employed at Walter Reed, The Institute for Integrative Health, has transformed a woodland into a healing garden called the “Green Road” Project. Today, the Green Road is a 1.6-acre urban parkland offering a natural healing environment for those who have returned from war.

Abstract

Naval Support Activity Bethesda is home to the nation’s largest facility for care and rehabilitation of our nation’s wounded warriors: Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. In direct support to the healing process employed at Walter Reed, CDM Smith performed a $1 million design-build project for a nonprofit, The Institute for Integrative Health, to transform a woodland into a healing garden called the “Green Road” Project. Today, the Green Road is a 1.6-acre urban parkland offering a natural healing environment for those who have returned from war.
