Shane Sweeney, a Clinical Psychology student, is investigating the effects of Moral Injury caused by both state and non-state political violence in Northern Ireland during the Troubles. The aim of this research is to be able to understand better the distress that occurred during the Troubles, for all involved. The study aims to take an unbiased stance, to hopefully aid in the support and treatment for all effected by the Troubles. This research is in coordination with ARQ Centrum 45′ refugee centre, in the Netherlands, and is in tandem with several research studies on Moral Injury in different populations.

All individuals who have been involved in or witnessed the Troubles are eligible to participate.
