Provision for Military Families

Service family accommodation

A guide has been produced for service families about applying for, maintaining, moving in and out of and living in UK service family accommodation (SFA).

The provision of good quality living accommodation for service personnel and their families is an important priority for the Ministry of Defence (MOD). The MOD’s Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) manages around 50,000 properties in the UK including planning targeted improvement programmes and planning future requirements. On behalf of the DIO, CarillionAmey, manages a comprehensive maintenance service; the allocation of properties; SFA furniture; conducting move in and move out appointments; and the provision of improvements. The grant, which has been distributed by the national charity of the Royal Navy, will enable the centre to complete the interior with comfortable furnishings and equipment.

Set to be officially opened later this year, the Norton Manor Camp Families Centre will provide a high quality facility for the Royal Marines service families within the Taunton area. (Royal Navy & Royal Marines Charity, Cobseo news, 28th March 2018)
